A 60 year old resident pastor of the Eternal Sacred Order of Cherubim and Seraphim at Agodo-Egbe, Ikotun Lagos, Prophet Micheal Raji, has been arrested by officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA over unlawful attempt to export of 174 kilogrammes of hard narcotic drugs worth N609 million to South Africa. Prophet Raji, believed to be a member of a drug trafficking syndicate, concealed 91kg of Methamphetamine and 83kg of Ephedrine with an estimated street value of N609 million in different foodstuffs tied in polythene bags. According to Vanguard, Prophet Michael Raji was arrested with the drug at the cargo section of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) during pre-shipment examination. A statement by NDLEA says he was found with three international passports bearing his name with his picture “Preliminary investigation has indicated that the 60 year old suspect Michael Raji is a top member of a drug syndicate operating in Nigeria, Ghana and South Africa. The pastor had three international passports bearing his photographs. One of the passports bears the name Michael Raji while the other two bear the name Kadigun Fatah Ola. It was equally discovered that the church premises where he ministers also serves as a warehouse for narcotics,” NDLEA said. Speaking on his arrest, the NDLEA commander at the Lagos Airport, Mr. Hamza Umar said “I can tell you that this suspect is a smooth operator but we have uncovered his bag of tricks. The drugs were brought to the airport for export to South Africa where it was detected. Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom today at the on- going meeting of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum at the moment at Lagos/Osun Hall, Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja which have in attendance about fifteen governors from both factions i.e. the Jang and Amachi faction, sat beside Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers.
When Akpabio came in after the Akwa Ibom Governor-elect, he insisted that a chair be brought for him to sit beside Amaechi who was already seated.

Nwobodo faults eviction order, goes to Appeal Court
Press statement from Jim Nwobodo following an Abuja court order asking him to vacate his rented apartment. Read below... A former Governor of old Anambra State, Chief Jim Nwobodo, has criticized the judgment of a Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja, which ordered him to vacate his rented apartment in Maitama saying the Court erred in law. Speaking at a press briefing on Sunday in Abuja, counsel to Nwobodo, Mr. Amobi Nzelu, said his clent has been residing in the property situated at 24 Ona Crescent, Plot 768 Cadastral Zone A5, Maitama Abuja for a very long time. He wondered why the respondent decided to release the judgment to the press after two months but did not inform the media that he has gone to appeal against the judgment. The respondent, Adin Miles International Limited, was said to have sometime in 2008 bought the property from one Alhaji Al-Mustapha Abubakar who had earlier leased the property to Nwobodo. Nzelu said, "It is not about non-payment of rent as was wrongly reported in the media. My client was ready to pay rent. He was negotiating for an outright sale. The man that bought this property is a fellow Igbo man and knew that my client was occupying this house and that he was his former governor. "Despite knowing these facts, he still went behind and bought the property, and then told his lawyer not to disclose his identify to my client. That was what happened. A Yoruba man will not do this to his brother, an Hausa man won't do this to his brother. My client had an agreement with the person that sold the house. We do not have any business with the new buyer. I have raised the issue in court, but the Judge closed his eyes on these issues." In an appeal with suit No. FCT/HC/CV/80/2011 and filed at the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal by his counsel (Nzelu), the ex-governor asked the appellate court to set aside the judgment of the lower court delivered on March 25 2015 by Justice Suleiman Belgore, in favour of the respondent, Adin Miles International Limited. He said, "The learned trial Judge erred in law when he failed to appreciate the fact that for title to vest in any person who purchase a property in Abuja, the consent of the Hon. Minister of the FCT, Abuja must be sought and obtained and this failure occasioned miscarriage of justice. "The learned trial Judge erred in law when he entered judgment in favour of the respondent without seeing any deed of sale nor deed of assignment nor power of attorney and this occasioned miscarriage of justice." According to him, the Judge also erred when he assumed jurisdiction to hear and determine the case "in the absence of valid documents" that will vest/clothe the court with jurisdiction. Nzelu said, "We have been in possession of this property for a long time and the owner made an offer to sell it. He now went behind and picked up this property. My client went and discussed with this man. He even added N30 million to what the man originally paid to acquire it. When we took over this property, it was in a bad shape. "We now went to court and the judgement was to come up in January this year, but it was deferred tillMarch 25because of the judiciary workers' strike. The man that went is not the original owner of this property. There was no breach of agreement between my client and him and they are not my client's landlord. There is no deed of sale on this property before they went to court. There is no agreement between my client and the man that went to court." According to Nwobodo, six days after the judgment, specifically onMarch 31, he appealed against it adding that the respondent was served the processesRevealed!! Patience Jonathan Denies Blocking Buhari’s Wife
Wife of the President, Mrs. Patience Jonathan, on Tuesday denied media reports that her plan to host the 8th summit of the African First Ladies Peace Mission on Friday is designed to deny the wife of the President-elect, Hajia Aisha Buhari, the opportunity of becoming the President of the mission. Mrs. Jonathan, who is the current President, had summoned a meeting of the mission during which new executive members are expected to emerge. Media reports had it that the election would have been held in July but the President’s wife brought it back to May to allow her successor to emerge before her husband will cease to be President from May 29. But a statement by Mr. Ayo Adewuyi, on Tuesday said there was no truth in the reports. Adewuyi explained that Mrs. Jonathan was elected President in July 2012 and was meant to serve for two years, according to the group’s internal regulation. He further said that while her tenure ought to have ended in 2014, when a fresh election should have held, the President’s wife drew the attention of her colleagues to the then forthcoming election in Nigeria, which preparation would not enable her host the summit. According to him, Mrs. Jonathan therefore proposed that the summit should hold after the general elections, and it was accordingly agreed that it should be held in July 2015. Adewuyi however added that there was an understanding among members that if President Goodluck Jonathan did not succeed in his re-election bid, the President’s wife would convene the summit in May to enable the election of a new President and ensure a smooth handover since her tenure has ended. The statement read in part, “Arising from the above, it is therefore clear that this is not a personal matter nor specifically a Nigeria sole affair but a continental platform governed by its own rules and protocols just as similar international organisations. “It would therefore be out of place for anyone to insinuate that it is intended to shut out the incoming First Lady. This cannot be farther from the truth. “We state therefore without any iota of equivocation that it is mischievous for anyone to scheme to cause disaffection between the outgoing and incoming First Ladies, Dame Patience Jonathan, and Hajia Aisha Buhari. “Let us therefore come together in our tradition of hospitality to heartily welcome our guests, the African First Ladies, as they arrive Abuja for the 8th Summit of the Mission. “Let us always remember that the personal ambition of anybody is not worth destroying the image of the nation.”
